This is an actual e-mail from one of our readers, we have taken out the names and the e-mail address. This seems to sum up the addiction to Xanax they have overcame.

After reading many websites and many blogs, I have successfully managed my so called addiction of Xanax. I new I had the mental strength , I remember quitting smoking and that was tough. I consider myself a strong person and know that this was going to be a long battle with Xanax.

I started taking Xanax as a stress releaser, during work. I found it easier to deal with things that way. After a while about a year or two, I found myself using Xanax as a social drug as well. Going to my buddies house and having a few beers, going fishing having a couple drinks. After three years of this I was up to four .5’s of Xanax a day. I had no problems, I had no issues. I kind of coasted thru life.

I really didn’t relies anything was wrong until I took a year off of work and relaxed. Being self employed and a good money manager I was doing pretty good. After the seventh month I found myself and my family of five running short on cash. So I sold things on e-bay. Not a bad gig if I don’t say so myself. I had plenty of left over inventory and that held us over for another three to four months.

Without insurance the $120.00 a month for my prescription was getting to be a little more problematic. But I always find some cash. I am always good at falling into a pile of crap and come out smelling like a rose.

I finally figured out that I had to get a real job when the housing market crashed and I had some issues with some properties I invested in when things were good and I was working and hustling for the cash that allowed us to live so nice.

Maybe I needed my vacation, maybe I needed my mental vacation that Xanax gave me. I can’t say if I would have done the things I have done and moved my family several times if I wasn’t hooked on Xanax and had such a dependency on this harmless little pill.

I quit smoking 9 years ago and I would love to have a smoke but I wont. I quit for a reason. I figured I enjoyed Xanax for a while and then it kind of enjoyed me. I weaned myself off one day at a time. I had some help from my buddies, who always seemed to hang with me and I enjoy their company. We still go fishing now and then.

I think I have done this with help from friends and reading about Xanax. I hope it works for those who think they need it. I have found I simply don’t need it anymore.
